If I had read this before the fight.....5/12/2019

I just remembered the day Evan left he had written me a letter expressing his frustration and all he had been trying to do to make me happy. Unfortunately I did not find the note until after we had had our fight and he had gone. 

I read it now and I see a young man who was trying, who cared and felt trapped??? and was frustrated that I had not recognized his efforts. I know I should not use the words "if only" however I can't help but wonder if the past 18 years would have been different had I read the note.
